Police have deployed significant resources across north London as they urgently search for a teenage boy suspected of stabbing two schoolchildren in Brent.
The attack occurred at a school on Bacon Lane, leaving a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy requiring hospital treatment. Their current condition has not been disclosed by authorities.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in north west London, confirmed officers have identified the suspect and urgent enquiries are ongoing to locate him. Significant police resources have been deployed to the area as the search continues.
The senior officer acknowledged the incident would cause considerable concern within the community and sought to reassure local students, parents and residents about the police response. “We have deployed significant resources to the area and are doing everything we can to locate the suspect,” Williams stated.
Both injured boys were taken to hospital following the attack at the Bacon Lane school. Medical staff including paramedics and doctors are providing care to the victims, though police have not provided updates on the severity of their injuries or their current medical status.
Detective Chief Superintendent Williams expressed gratitude to emergency medical personnel treating the boys. “Our thoughts are with the injured boys and I want to thank the paramedics and doctors who are providing them both with care,” he stated.
The investigation remains active as officers work to apprehend the teenage suspect. Police have not disclosed whether the suspect is known to the victims or attended the same school, nor have they revealed what prompted the attack.
Authorities indicated they will provide further updates on the investigation when possible. The manhunt continues across north west London as police attempt to locate the suspect and establish the full circumstances surrounding the double stabbing.
Local residents and parents await information about security measures at schools in the area following the violent incident. The attack represents the latest in a series of knife crime incidents affecting young people in the capital.
